- The name AR Rahman used at birth was different. He was born into a Hindu family as Dileep Kumar. At the Age and Birthday of 23, he made the decision to convert and embrace Islam. Soon after meeting Sufi saint Qadri Islam, his spiritual mentor, he felt moved to take this action.
- AR Rahman did not choose music as a profession at random. His father, RK Shekhar, shared his son’s passion for music. In actuality, he wrote songs in Malayalam and Tamil.
